Announcement: 25 August 2026. Retrospective report prepared on 14 September 2026.

Dapol outlined a substantial refresh of its OO-gauge LMS Stanier corridor coaches on 25 August. The UK-produced range retains tooling with Airfix origins, but introduces changes to the running gear, glazing and underframe detail.
Metal wheelsets replace the earlier plastic wheels. The announced work also includes separately fitted underframe components, a revised bogie pivot arrangement and adaptor clips for NEM coupling pockets. Window-frame detail is printed onto the glazing, replacing the heavier moulded surrounds.
The proposed liveries are LMS lined maroon, BR carmine and cream, and BR lined maroon. Dapol’s product list covers 57ft brake and 60ft composite vehicles, with several running numbers in each colour scheme. The announcement gives an RRP of £35 per coach.
Dapol said tooling modifications were complete and BR lined maroon vehicles were in production. Its forecast placed shop arrivals between late September and early October 2026. That makes this an update to a familiar coach range with a stated production timetable; the sample photographs should still be read as development material rather than proof of retail stock.
