Announcement: 27 August 2026. Retrospective report prepared on 14 September 2026.

Accurascale published production-sample photographs of its latest Mark 2 coaches on 27 August, reporting that the batch was complete. The update concentrated on early Mark 2C vehicles and the detail differences that distinguish them within the wider coach family.
A larger square toilet window is one of the identifying features discussed by the manufacturer. Roof ventilation is another: Accurascale says it has represented the G, GM and Roe-Vac arrangements found on the early vehicles, rather than using one roof configuration throughout.
The announcement also highlighted late-1990s South Wales & West formations, combining blue coaches with maroon vehicles associated with the early West Coast Railways operation. Accurascale described Class 37 haulage as part of the appeal of recreating those trains.
Dispatch to customers and retailers was forecast to begin in early September. That timetable was the manufacturer’s position on 27 August and does not confirm present stock for every reference. For anyone assembling a period rake, the update underlines the value of checking individual coach variants as well as their liveries: apparently similar vehicles can carry different roof and window details.
