Hornby’s July 2026 TT:120 launch combined two new wagon tooling projects with additional locomotive liveries and returning freight vehicles. Newly tooled TEA tankers and LMS-design 20-ton brake vans were the main additions to the rolling-stock range.

The initial TEA selection covers Esso, Shell and BP liveries on models representing tankers built in the late 1960s. Hornby said later releases would address schemes carried in subsequent years. The brake-van project covers LMS and BR diagrams D1919, D2036 and D2068, initially in LMS grey, BR bauxite and engineers’ olive green.

The same announcement included preserved Flying Scotsman in BR lined green, with DCC-ready and sound-fitted options, plus Class 66 numbers 66719 and 66727 in Metronet and Maritime schemes. BR grey 21-ton mineral wagons and LNER Toad E brake vans also featured.

For TT:120 modellers, the announcement broadens freight-train choices alongside the locomotives. These releases cover different eras, so selecting a coherent formation still requires attention to livery and period. The July range announcement itself should not be read as confirmation that every model was immediately in stock.
