Magenta ONE Class 66 announced as a TT:120 exclusive

Hornby’s Freightliner 66587 brings ONE magenta to a World of Railways exclusive. Published delivery estimates currently disagree.

Anyone building a present-day TT:120 freight scene has a particularly colourful locomotive to consider. World of Railways announced on 25 September 2026 that Hornby is producing Freightliner 66587 As One, We Can in Ocean Network Express magenta as an exclusive model.

It depicts the low-emission Class 66/5 configuration, including the appropriate roof grille and fuel-tank arrangement. Hornby has revised the wheel profile and coupling-arm arrangement for this production run, with second-radius operation listed in the specification.

A distinctive freight locomotive

The model is DCC-ready, with a Next18 socket and provision for Hornby’s HM7000 sound equipment and power bank. Directional and cab lights are included, although some lighting functions require DCC.

The attraction for a modeller is obvious: that magenta finish would stand out against a restrained yard or container-terminal scene. It also gives a useful reason to study the real locomotive’s weathering before reaching for the airbrush.

Price and delivery estimate

The listed price is £159.99. Delivery timing needs checking: the news report says November/December 2027, while the linked shop listing says late 2026. These conflicting estimates do not establish a confirmed arrival date. Check directly with the seller before placing a pre-order.
