Metcalfe adds a water tower, goods shed and chapel to Little Cardleywick

Three compact card-kit subjects offer more options for rural OO and N gauge scenes.

Small buildings can do a great deal of work on a layout, and Metcalfe’s latest Little Cardleywick additions caught my eye for just that reason. Gaugemaster’s 6 October 2026 report covers a station water tower, lock-up goods shed and chapel in OO and N.

The chapel takes loose inspiration from Garsdale Head on the Settle–Carlisle line. The two railway buildings offer compact subjects for a station scene where there simply is not room for a sprawling goods yard.

Listed recommended prices are £15 each for the OO water tower and goods shed, and £16 for the chapel. Their N gauge counterparts are £12 each for the tower and shed, and £12.50 for the chapel. Retail prices can differ.

I would be tempted to build a small scene around one of these first: a believable path, a little fencing and a few carefully placed figures can be more effective than filling every spare inch with buildings.

Availability differs between the kits. The water towers and goods sheds were listed for pre-order when checked; this is not an across-the-range stock-arrival announcement. Check the precise product and scale with your supplier.
