About this event

Folkestone Model Railway Exhibition 2026 guide

Folkestone, Hythe & District Model Railway Club stages its annual exhibition at Leas Cliff Hall on 26–27 September 2026. The current event announcement lists 23 layouts, plus traders, society displays and modelling demonstrations.

Opening hours and admission

The exhibition opens 10am–4.30pm on both days. Adults aged 16 and over pay £9, children aged 5–15 pay £4 and the advertised family ticket is £24. Check the organiser for the family-ticket composition and any admission conditions before purchasing.

Layouts across the scales

The programme includes Kent subjects such as Staple & Ash’s East Kent Railway scene and Janes’ Creek, set around Strood. Larger-scale and narrow-gauge visitors can look for Holmeshurst, Abbey Light Railway and Pacific Crossing Birkenhead. Continental modelling includes Kaninchenbau and Konigshafen, while Five Mile House and Great Tey add main-line interest. The named layout list is shown below.

The Double O Gauge Association’s own diary confirms its stand and appearances by Addleford Green, associated with Jonathan Ramsden, and Fence Houses, associated with Ian Forsyth.

Traders, societies and advice

Coastal DCC, Squires Tools, Invicta Model Rail, Golden Arrow Productions and Kingsway Models are among the named trade entries. Other displays include the EPB Preservation Project, 4 Sub Association, Elham Valley Line Trust and Shepway Military Modellers Society. A loco-doctor service and modelling demonstrations are advertised, though individual demonstrators and session times are not named. A raffle and tombola are also planned.

Venue and travel

The venue is Leas Cliff Hall, The Leas, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2DZ. Refreshments and disabled access are advertised. Free parking is not provided; check local parking arrangements and the venue’s access information before travelling.
