Stafford Model Railway Exhibition 2026 guide

Stafford Railway Circle’s show takes over Bingley Hall at Stafford County Showground on 26–27 September. The official programme currently lists 55 layouts and 54 trade entries, offering a substantial weekend for modellers interested in different scales, specialist supplies and practical advice.

Opening times and tickets

Saturday opening is 10am–5pm; Sunday is 10am–4.30pm. Advance admission is £16 for adults, £5 for children aged 5–15 and £32 for a family. On the door, adults pay £18, children £5 and families £36. Check the organiser’s booking information for family-ticket eligibility and current availability.

Layouts and manufacturers

The programme ranges from fine-scale subjects such as Faringdon and Wantage Tramway to narrow-gauge Penrhyn Quarries and overseas scenes including Red Hook Bay and Zeedijk. Look out too for Tidworth, Highland Sulzers, Swaynton and the scenic Crooked House. The full current list is provided below.

Accurascale, Dapol, Heljan and Peco/Railway Modeller are prominent names among the traders. Digitrains, Legoman-Biffo/DC Kits and DCC Model Railway Signalling add digital-control expertise, alongside kit, scenery, tool and book suppliers.

Demonstrators to meet

Tony Wright offers locomotive-building advice and a loco-doctor service supporting Cancer Research UK. David Wright demonstrates building construction using card and modelling clay. Kevin Harlow covers 3D-pen trees, Brian A Davies wagon loads and Les Nehrlich brush-applied enamel weathering. Finescale contributors include Mark Forrest, Damian Ross and John Wardle, while Charley Johnston and Andy Cumming represent MERG with electronics expertise. These are named programme contributors; a timed session schedule is not published.

Travel and planning

Bingley Hall is at Stafford County Showground, Weston Road, ST18 0BD, on the A518 roughly three miles east of Stafford. Parking is free and a free station shuttle is advertised for both days. Use the current event page for the final bus timetable rather than an older linked timetable. Allow time for the society stands as well as the large layout and shopping areas.
