The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway launches its Model Railway Weekend on 26–27 September, spreading exhibitions across Toddington and Winchcombe. The railway advertises 45 layouts, with a single event ticket combining model displays and heritage train travel.
Tickets and opening information
The official event starts at 10am on Saturday and lists an overall finish of 3.45pm on Sunday. Toddington’s diesel shed closes earlier, at 3pm on Sunday. Individual building hours and Saturday closing time should be checked with the railway; the event spans several locations.
Adults pay £28 for one day or £40 for two days. Children aged 5–15 pay £9 for one day or £14 for two days; accompanied under-fives travel free. One qualifying carer may travel free with a fare-paying disabled visitor under the booking conditions. Tickets include unlimited full-line travel, the Toddington–Winchcombe shuttle, Toddington’s narrow-gauge railway and the advertised exhibits.
What is at each station?
Toddington’s diesel shed hosts layouts and traders, with smaller displays in the Cotswold Halt Café. At Winchcombe, visit the Tim Mitchell Building, platform-two waiting room, permanent model railway coach and Carriage & Wagon workshops. The Signal & Telegraph area adds signalling equipment and pre-loved sales. Plan the train journeys between locations into your day.
