Accurascale updates Hunslet Austerity deliveries as first orders leave

First-shipment Hunslet Austerity pre-orders have been dispatched, while some sound-fitted versions face a short decoder-related delay.

There is welcome delivery news for modellers awaiting an Accurascale Hunslet Austerity. In its update of 14 September 2026, the manufacturer said all pre-orders covered by the first shipment had been dispatched to direct customers and retailers.

The release is arriving in two shipments. Accurascale attributes the split to strong demand, including for the Longmoor Military Railway pack, and chose to send out the first arrivals while the remaining models followed.

Some sound versions are following later

A delay in the supply of ESU decoders has affected some sound-fitted locomotives. On 14 September, Accurascale estimated their arrival in around ten days — approximately 24 September, rather than a guaranteed delivery date.

Limited surplus stock from the first shipment was also reported available directly. Availability will depend on the individual version.

For anyone with a small industrial layout waiting for its next resident, this is an encouraging step. The practical point is to check the particular model ordered: the first dispatch announcement does not mean every version is already on its way. This is an update to the existing project, rather than an announcement of a new production run.
