A modest van can earn its keep on a model railway just as readily as a headline locomotive. Gaugemaster’s 8 October 2026 update reports the return of six Dapol OO wagon variants to its ordering lists.
The subjects are LMS bauxite ventilated van 155005, BR grey ventilated van M183312 and BR Fruit D W2023. Each is offered in standard and weathered finishes.
The retailer lists the ventilated vans at £13.40, or £14.65 weathered. The Fruit D is £22, or £23.30 weathered. All were shown as out of stock but available to order when checked.
I like releases of ordinary rolling stock because they invite a closer look at the traffic a layout is meant to handle. Before buying several, I would check photographs of my chosen place and period and decide which wagon actually belongs there.
Although the announcement headline refers to October, Gaugemaster’s separate delivery schedule puts these returning vans under December. Treat this as an ordering update, not an October stock arrival; confirm the latest estimate with the retailer. These are returning models, not an announcement of new tooling.
