About this event
Ayr Model Railway Exhibition 2026 in Troon
Ayr Model Railway Group’s annual exhibition takes place at Troon Concert and Walker Halls on South Beach on 19–20 September 2026. Although organised by the Ayr club, the exhibition venue is in Troon. The programme promises layouts in popular gauges and different railway eras, plus trade and society stands.
Opening times and ticket prices
Published hours need clarification: the organiser-supplied listing gives Saturday 10am–5pm and Sunday 10am–4pm, while South Ayrshire Council’s tourism listing gives 10am–4pm for the weekend. Both agree on a 10am opening. Check with the club before planning a late Saturday arrival.
Adults pay £7, children £4 and under-fives enter free. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £16.
Layouts, traders and demonstrations
The 2026 publicity advertises 16 layouts and eight traders, with contributions from the host group and other Scottish clubs. The council’s event listing specifically confirms a Thomas layout that children can operate. It is a useful chance to compare scales and railway periods while discussing modelling with the exhibitors.
The club’s 2026 attendance schedule names Dalgarven Mill (O), Woodston (OO), St Thomas (OO) and Mauchline (N) for its own Troon show. Greenock & District MRC also lists attendance on these dates. A complete named trader roster was not available on the official club website when checked. Demonstrations are advertised in the event directory, but individual demonstrators and industry guests have not been confirmed in the sources reviewed. See the club’s 2026 attendance schedule for those home layouts.
Venue, travel and access
Use Troon Town Hall and Walker Halls, Municipal Buildings, South Beach, Troon, KA10 6EF. The venue is about half a mile from Troon station. The council listing identifies parking, Blue Badge parking and disabled access; the exhibition listing also advertises refreshments.
