About this event

Greenock Model Railway Show 2026 guide

Greenock & District Model Railway Club celebrates its 40th anniversary show at Lyle Kirk on 17–18 October 2026. The club’s latest announcement confirms the weekend and opening hours, while its event publicity advertises 12 working layouts, selected trade support and a buffet.

Times, venue and admission

Saturday opening is 10am–5pm. Sunday starts later, at noon, and closes at 5pm. The exhibition is at Lyle Kirk, Union Street, Greenock, PA16 8DD. Do not travel to the clubrooms at Fort Matilda station expecting to find the exhibition there.

The published directory prices are £7 for adults, £6 concessions and £20 for a family of two adults and two children. A separate child price and concession eligibility are not specified; contact the exhibition manager for those details.

Layouts and traders

The event publicity names Kirkconnell from Greenock MRC, Dalmarock from Perth MRC and Whinfell from Ayr MRC, together with micro layouts and hands-on Brio operation. These are the advertised expected exhibits, with further layouts still to be announced. St Morten RhB has also confirmed its intention to exhibit in a public response acknowledged by the host club.

Junction Box Model Railways, Shedring Models and CM3 Models are the named expected traders. MERG is listed among the society displays, offering an electronics-related point of interest. Individual demonstrators, workshops and major-industry guest appearances have not been named in the programme reviewed.

Planning your visit

Light refreshments are advertised. The club’s 12 October travel notice confirms free street parking around Union Street, Robertson Street and Campbell Street, plus bus route 507 towards Gourock. A free vintage Leyland Leopard shuttle is planned on both show days: pick-ups at the West College Scotland bus stop on Nelson Street around quarter past and quarter to the hour, and at Fort Matilda around the hour and half past. Times may vary with traffic and passengers; donations towards the bus are welcome. Confirm step-free access directly with the organiser.

Rechecked 12 October 2026 against the club’s current public announcement, official events page and 2026 event publicity. Enquiries: exhibition manager, showman@greenockmrc.co.uk. The named line-up remains subject to confirmation and changes.

Travel update source: the organiser’s 12 October travel announcement. The 12-layout total and three named expected traders remain advertised in the current event publicity; the complete named layout roster is still pending.
