About this event

The London Festival of Railway Modelling returns to Alexandra Palace on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March 2027, as announced in the World of Railways show calendar. The Model Railway Club selects the layouts for this annual exhibition, bringing together different scales and railway settings.

Layouts and trade stands

The Model Railway Club’s page dated 21 March 2027 describes around 40 invited layouts and over 90 trade stands, including manufacturers and retailers. It also announces the club’s pre-owned sales stand in the West Hall. These are expected show totals; the complete 2027 layout, trader and society lists have not yet been published.

Two layout appearances have been announced directly by their clubs:

  • Temple Bridge — OO gauge: Redditch Model Railway Club confirms its appearance on 20–21 March 2027. The layout imagines a London terminus north of the Thames, with Southern Region operations set in the 1950s–1960s.
  • Tŷ’n-y-Coedcae — ScaleSeven: Newport Model Railway Society’s exhibition calendar lists this layout for both days. Built at 7mm to the foot on 33mm-gauge track, it depicts a small goods yard and halt on the Brecon and Merthyr Railway’s Caerphilly branch in the early twentieth century.

These are individual exhibitor announcements, not the complete organiser-approved programme. Appearances remain subject to change. Demonstration, workshop and society-stand totals are not yet confirmed.

Opening times and tickets

Sunday 21 March: 10am–4.30pm, as currently listed by The Model Railway Club. Saturday hours and any advance-ticket early entry remain to be confirmed for 2027.

Adult, child and family prices, booking fees, child-age concessions and the 2027 booking link have not yet been verified. World of Railways currently labels the 2027 show “coming soon”. Its older London ticket pages still link to the 2026 event, so their prices, 9.30am early entry, shuttle timetable and companion-ticket deadline should not be used to plan a 2027 visit. Ask the organiser about 2027 companion tickets and children’s activities before booking.
